Welcome!
What is Dr. Z up to now is a great question!
Within these web pages you will find news and developments as to Dr. Pamela J. Zelbst’s current interests and projects. Please feel fee to explore and enjoy this website which is focused on the work and interests of a remarkable individual!
Described as a Renaissance Woman, she has varied and eclectic interests that keep her peers (and management) wondering where her intellect and curiosity will lead her to next.
As just a small example, in April 2025 Dr. Zelbst used her own funds to purchase a satellite because she “see’s” a link between business applications and satellite technologies, and in order to explore potential course development for SHSU’s College of Business Administration (COBA), she needed a working platform.
Dr. Zelbst believes there is potential with Japan’s Space Agency for payload launch opportunities in 2026! This would be just another first for her and SHSU! We can only wonder as to what she will name the satellite!

PMI CERTIFICATE PROGRAM for FUTURE BEARKATS!
Dr. Zelbst is pleased to announce that a prototype program to identify high school students and incentivize them to become future BearKats has been successfully completed!
The Program, in conjunction with the Project Management Institute (PMI), Houston Chapter, allows high school students to study for, test for and upon passing the exam, be awarded entry level certificates into the PMI hierarchy. This is actually an important accomplishment for these young students!
Dr. Zelbst saw an opportunity to gain future student enrollments for SHSU as well as the potential for increased membership with future professionals in PMI by developing a program that introduces high school students to Project Management! Dr. Zelbst developed the entire course for the students and as well as designing the course materials and she further arranged for the students that completed the course to test independently of her involvement so that there would be no questions of favorable bias in test score results.
Dr. Zelbst initially choose Huntsville, Madisonville and Trinity to offer the program and is quite pleased to announce a total of 42 students have achieved their certificates!
