Dr. Zelbst used a 3D Printer to make this scale model of a velociraptor for the Houston Museum of Natural Science, an adult velociraptor stood approximately five feet tall and was between six to eight feet long!

WELCOME! This site features the activities, interests and accomplishments of Dr. Pamela J. Zelbst, PH.D, PMP and Founder and Director of the Center for Innovation and Technology at Sam Houston State University. Dr. Zelbst is a 2024 Texas State University System Regent Professor and a 2023 Sam Houston State University Distinguished Professor.

The site will be periodically updated to highlight the varied interests and current projects Dr. Zelbst is involved in.

As founder and CEO of several privately held companies, of which she was the principal, Dr. Zelbst enjoyed a successful business career in obtaining and managing large, multi-million dollar government contracts with the likes of The Department of Housing, and Urban Development, The Veterans Administration and both Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, Dr. Zelbst also established and operated construction companies that focused on real estate development and investment properties. When her family and business interests favored relocation to Houston, Dr. Zelbst chose to exit day-to-day business operations and eventually enrolled at SHSU as a non-traditional student, where her love for knowledge lead her to discover her real passion in life, that of teaching!

Dr. Zelbst holds the following degrees:

  • M.B.A.   Sam Houston State University, Huntsville, Texas, Business Administration, with Honors,1998 
  • B.B.A.   Sam Houston State University, Huntsville, Texas, General Business Administration, with Honors,1997 

It is worth noting that Dr. Zelbst completed the two year Master’s Program in one year!
